All I can remember of this movie is one scene where a man, (I think its Kirk Douglas) looks like he's suffering radiation sickness and looks and sees an atomic explosion some distance away.The movie was in color.Another movie I saw or should have never seen as a child involves a town obiterated by a nuclear blast and people in some mountains have survived.It was shown in my school around the 1960's (during the duck and cover years of my life.) I'm a 21 year old male.I have had numerous injuries that needed x rays over the last 4 years (broken: jaw/teeth, back, elbow, foot, ribs and hand.) My wife and I signed up with Gold's Gym back in July 2010.$50 a month for the both of us for two years.We were with Wachovia who then got bought out by Wells Fargo.When this switch happened in October, I checked my bills online and saw that the $50 fee showed up on my Wells Fargo account as recurring so I took that to mean that everything was fine.Well it wasn't.The $50 fee never got switched.Ok, my fault, I get it.We hadn't been to the gym since about October.It is now 6 months later and we got letters from a collections agency asking for $568 per person.So we got no calls from Gold's, no courtesy letters or emails to ask us to update our account, which I would have done.My questions are, should we pay these two $568 collections payments? At this point, are we still members at Gold's Gym with them trying to charge us $50 a month and continuing the collections on our accounts? We're not trying to cancel our membership, just trying to sort out what out options are and not pay these two ridiculous amounts of $568 each.HELP!!!

What's your opinion on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
In my opinion they are way better than most other bands including bands like Floyd, Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones and their songs have more of a rock and roll feeling in my opinion.Floyd and Zeppelin sound more like of a pop feeling.Boston has mainly mostly rock songs for the most part.Now I'm not trying to get any fans upset but I'm a little upset that Boston is underrated and not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.I mean their music is amazing and I love them just as much as the Beatles and another great band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.Seriously I love the song "Smokin", "More than a Feeling" and others.Actually I might like Def Leopard a little more.I like harder classic rock a little more.

I'm 5 hours away at college so I haven't seen him in person since Winter Break.He died this morning and the funereal is scheduled for this coming Saturday, the start of my Spring Break.I have been accepted to work at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming for the break (I live in NYC and my grandpa lives in NJ) and the flights have been booked and paid for already by the hiring agency.I cannot change my flight or get a refund because the flight date is so close.If I decline this work offer I would have to reimburse them for the airfare as well as for all of the funding they were going to use for training and housing (totaling over a few thousand, which is not chump change to me), not to mention a loss of a huge job opportunity as the spring break program would be a lead-in for a summer internship.I love my grandpa, and I was able to say my goodbyes when I last saw him (he was suffering from pancreatic cancer and wasn't too well because the chemotherapy made everything worse).My father called me through Skype a few days before my grandpa passed away because my grandpa was barely hanging on and only had brief moments of lucidity.I told my grandpa that I loved him and to rest peacefully.I also have a midterm on each day from Wed-Friday so I cannot even get back home before late Friday night.We weren't as close these past few years as we were when I was younger...but I do still care for him.My father and my grandmother told me that the family understands the decisions I had to make but I cannot help but feel guilty.I'm not trying to use everything as an excuse, merely just trying to weigh all of factors affecting this situation.

My mom who is 48 went to a biofeedback therapist in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada and diagnosed her stage 1.5 to stage 2 Pancreatic cancer.My mom is a 5'7 145 pounds, smoker (25-30 years).She doesn't eat very much nutritional food, mainly soups.She drinks about 2 cans of coke per day and likes sweets.She has a family history of type 2 diabetes and her 50 year old sister is in remission since april 2009 of triple neg breast cancer.This biofeedback therapist recommended by a family friend did the tests and told her the diagnosis.For the past while, since an accident at work and later in a vehicle she has had mid back and neck pain with excruciating headaches.She has been seeing a chiropractor who has diagnosed her with 2 bulging disks.Recently she has had thin bowel movements also odd bm to her.My question is how accurate is Biofeedback therapists? Also he told her between stage 1.5 and 2 pancreatic cancer but theres no tumors, but reading online about pancreatic cancer I got the impression that even a stage 1 has a pea size tumor and the life expectancy of five years is less the 30%.Since seeing him today he put her on a coffee enema (to flush toxins out of liver), sesame seed swish (20 min 3 times daily - to eliminate metals in her) and a pill she has to take 2 before each meal (similar to a chemo therapy - cancer cell killer) and a clove liquid to put into capsules and finally a bowel regulator.--> He said she had high metal amounts in her.When she told me what he said I was devastated.I hear pancreatic cancer and I hear "death sentence".My mom does live an unhealthy life style but she doesn't eat fast food or drink alcohol.Please help me, I am 17 years old and going into pre med in the fall and I love my mom dearly, she is the most important person in my life and I couldn't live without her.She is going to follow this mans plan (what if she follows he said she would be cured and if continued to live this new life style she would lower her chances of cancer altogether) and go back in a month to retest and see how she's responding to his treatments.What should her next steps be? CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Blood work? ( he did some sort of test similar to a blood test and some level was at 156 and anything over 200 is definitely a stage 3 or 4 cancer and 75 is normal? I have 2 year old twins whos birthday is May 8th.My daughter ( one of the twins) suffers from a rare terminal disease ( mitochondrial disease).Every year the charity we work with holds a event at PNC park to raise money for research.We usually do a big tailgating event but last year we lost a lot of money due to people not showing up AND not paying me.( I ordered tickets in advance relying on people word they would pay.....big mistake but my fault).Anyways.....this year the game is May 22nd very close to their 3rd birthday.I thought it would be kinda cool to have their birthday party at the stadium by renting a room and having food and drinks for all family (60 people.....big family) I would pay for the room and the food and drinks but was wondering if it's wrong to have anyone coming pay for their game ticket $12 a ticket?? We have done the baseball game the past 2 years and everyone of those 60 people have attended.I know we will all go and everyone will pay even if I decide not to have the party there I just don't want to be rude or tacky by asking if it's not a hood idea.......thoughts??Good idea NOT hood idea

What does this reoccurring dream mean?
Ever since I was 4years old.My parents would leave me and my two older brothers and sister alone.We have different dads and I guess they always held it against me.My brothers use to hit me and call me names.My oldest brother who is eight years older than me use to wrestle with me everyday after school.He would choke me and he nearly broke my arm and my spine when he landed on my spine when I was curled up in a ball with his elbow.My other brother, Luke who is 4years older than me, he has just recently hit me in the side of my leg with a metal, rusty, spiky pole.It bled a little and it is really purple.He did this in front of my mum and she always told me to go ask her for help and not lose my temper.So I went over to mum and told her what he had done, she even saw it.But all she said was 'Don't get me involved.'.And ever since this started, yes I was four years of age and when I ran out to the car when she came home crying, all she said was, 'It's your fault, you got involved'.Four years old and it was MY fault?!He dislocated my shoulder when I was eight, I was screaming my head off, it hurt so much, he popped it back into place and I couldn't even say a word to my mum! Sometimes, when he was in school when I was 5, he would chase us (luke, katie and me) home while throwing stones at us.Other times, they would gang up on me and call me names and hurt me.My sister breaks my stuff and laughs at me.Every time I tried to tell my parents this, they didn't believe me!! Of course, who would believe a four year old! Is it MY fault? Is it abuse or just brothers and sisters? I'm a girl....and this has been worrying me for quite some time...is there a chance that they could....touch me in certain places??

My husband and I have been TTC for about 6 months.I'm now on clomid and Metformin for PCOS.We had no problem conceiving our first son.I know that I ovulated around Feb 21st-22nd.I should be about 13-14 dpo.My bbt dropped today and I started spotting early this morning (only a tony bit of brown and pink) I took a hpt just in case and it was negative.I still haven't gotten my period yet today, and I've never spotted so little before.Could I still have gotten a false negative this late in my cycle?? I have to think my period is right around the corner but it's been over 12 hours since the small amount of spotting...Could I still be pregnant??? Just wondering if something like this happened to anyone


Period or implantation bleeding?
Every month I get a positive OPK always around or on CD 19 but the last two months my temp.never rose so ovulation wasn't detected.I have looked through other charts and it looks like a fall back rise.I have my chart on fertility friend my temp has rose and stayed high but say ovulation never detected.My question is even though I get positive OPK's can I still not be ovulating.I am always very regular I ovulate cd19 and period 14 days later.Any thoughts are appreciated Thanks

I have PCOS and on Met 500mg/day since Dec2010..Eventhough I got positive OPK on last Monday night (1 week back) and eggwhite CM , till now there is no shift in temperature..That time I was so stressed up and was on great anxiety..Again on today noon my panty is wet and saw some watery CM(sorry for TMI) and my today's BBT is 96.60F(which is very low)..Does it mean that I am fertile now and have a delayed ovulation??

Why can't I get pregnant ?
So I have ME and my body temperature can be a bit erratic but generally on the low side (a bbt of 35.5 - 36).Anyway I had some mefenamic acid for pain and my body temp has dropped to 35.2 and I'm very cold.I know NSAIDs are used to lower fevers...can that possibly be why my temp has dropped? I'm not hugely worried, just curious.Thank you! It depends who you ask as to whether low temperatures are attributed to it.I think in Britain it's generally said not to be but in the US it is sometimes considered to be.By some of the research I've done anyway! I did read of a link to low T3 but there's lots of debate about that as well so it's hard to know! It's hard to be sure of anything with ME really! I took it orally.

This is our first month ttc our first...my periods are usually regular but I just had my first one 16 days ago after my last one (nov 29-dec 7)...i have been using opk's since cd 12 and charting bbt since then as well...still no +opk but slight cramping on left side since last night...cm is watery-ish but still slightly white in color...cervix is high and slightly hard and I cant tell if its open...have I missed ovulation even though i havent had a +opk? or is it just a longer cycle? any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated! ty! also my period lasted roughly 10 days which is only a day or 2 longer than normal so i chalked it up to not having one for 2 1/2 months...also as we are using a friend as a sperm donor since we are a married lesbian couple, timing is extremely crucial

I had implanon removed Jan 31 as we are ttc #3.My ob said that my cycles should return to normal within a couple of weeks I got af on Feb 8th according to bbt I ovulated on either cd 14 or 15.Which puts me at 10-11 dpo my AF is due on the 7th or 8th.Had BFN this morning hoping maybe I tested too early.I know its only our first month trying.Took us 13 months to conceive #1 and first month off bcp to conceive #2.I had BFP at 9dpo with #2.Could be why I'm obsessively testing lol.I guess my ? Is how long did it take you to conceive after implant or how long have you been ttc since removal? The wait is driving me crazy and I hope its not another year long process.

I've been trying to get pregnant now since October 2010.I'm taking my BBT every morning before getting out of bed, etc and I know I'm ovulating because of my temps rising, etc etc.However, I've also been charting my CM and my positioning as well and my cervix NEVER feels soft.Why is this and how can I fix it? I don't have insurance right now.I'm in the waiting period until it kicks in.I check my cervical position once maybe twice a day.I have EWCM and everything but it's never soft like it's supposed to be.Is this why I'm not getting pregnant?!

I saw the news on BBC & CNN about this, which raises a concern for the spread of RadiationFrom what I understand, the radiation "hazard" so far is due to the venting of steam from the reactor.Reactor steam tends to contain caesium-137 which is a Beta emitting radioactive material.Caesium-137 acts in the body in a similar fashion as potassium, which means it displaces potassium in the body in a similar fashion as carbon monoxide displaces oxygen in the body.The direct health effects are typically heart attack and stroke if concentrations get to high.Fortunately, the chemical Prussian Blue (normally used as a dye) bonds to caesium-137 and removes it from the body rather easily.The main risk is due to the Beta emissions from the caesium-137.Beta radiation has more penetration than alpha particles which means it penetrates deeper into body tissue.While alpha particles can be stopped by a sheet of tissue paper, shielding for beta particles is typically metal containers.Long term alpha or beta radiation exposure typically results in cancer (skin cancer for alpha radiation, deep tissue cancer for beta exposure) but we're talking about a LOT of exposure for any real risk...Most people are exposed to beta radiation from concrete, although the beta emissions from caesium-137 are significantly higher than from concrete.Pl.update if you know more about this.

After hearing about the nuclear power plant in Japan and how they were giving people iodine tablets to treat radiation exposure, it made me wonder if there was an alternative to these.I'm allergic to iodine in any form (topical or ingested) so I would be unable to take the regulated medicine.Is there another alternative to these capsules? Or would I be stuck taking these and being treated for the allergic reaction? I asked my boyfriend if he has ever hit a woman and he immediately said yes.He said he was 19 and had an argument with his girlfriend and asked her to leave his apartment.He then went to the bathroom and when he came out she was waiting right outside the door and punched him in the jaw as soon at the door opened...he said his immediate reaction was to swing back and that floored her.And before he knew it, she grabbed a hand full of his manhood and squeezed...he said he kept hitting her in the head until she let go...then he told her to leave again and she grabbed his manhood again...and he hit her again until she let go.After that she went into his kitchen and he heard glass breaking, but chose to not go into the kitchen fear of having glass thrown at him.Then she came at him with a Chef's knife.He said that after she swiped at him, he grabbed her hand and began slamming her into the wall until she dropped the knife...then he forceably pushed her out the door and locked it behind him.I asked why didn't he just pick her up and restrain her...he said that they were about equal weight (although she is shorter), and they both studied martial arts together at the time and she could hold her own.And they had been taught to fight with knives, so while she wasn't a knife fighting expert, she did have formal training.I asked if he called the police, and he said no...she did.I asked if he went to jail, and he said no...the laws were diffrerent back then.Back then the first person to throw a punch was committing assault and the assaulted party could defend themselves.He said that she later told him that the police refused to take the report, because if they did they would have been forced to take her to jail & he had called they would have to come back and arrest her.I asked him if he would do it again under the same circumstances.He said, "If a woman my size with formal martial arts training hit me unprovoked by obvious physical aggression on my part...and/or had a weapon in her hand...I would beat her azz like a man...and deal with the consequences.I'd rather be a live man in court for domestic abuse than a dead man in a grave with a tombstone saying that I'm a gentleman."We've been together for 2 years, and he has never as much as raised his voice to me.

This is an interesting question and I want to see the answers.The 2 men are both experienced, the Soldier at the age of 27, being a veteran of at least 2 combat tours serving mainly as an 11B (Infantryman) and he does more than just shoot a gun or use a knife.He helps the people in the foreign land, helps his fellow Soldiers grow in their jobs and trains hard when off duty.This Soldier is highly trained in combat, has experience in detaining suspects, holding a position and using hand to hand combat if necessary.He's experienced with weapons, tactics, mixed martial arts and overall a fit and rough person.A man with a heart and a man who would die for his family and his Army family.He has been a Soldier since the age of 18 and has attained the rank of Sgt.or E-5.His dedication and ongoing training has been in part the reason why he is where he is at.The cop is a 33 year old man who has served for at least 5 years and has served his community in several capacities involving traffic stops, policing the public, arresting rowdy people, using a taser and mace when needed, using the tools given to render suspects defenseless & also using his physical/mental strength and police training as a way to mediate with suspects.He tries to have a heart amongst the evil things he see's while working on the streets and has attained the rank of Sgt.because of his hard work and dedication.He works out weekly and trains part time in wrestling and judo.He is strong and has a strong faith in life.Both men are hard workers and have served their nation/communities but who would come out on top if these 2 people came across each other in a unforeseen scenario involving a misunderstanding on the police officer's side and the police officer not listening or taking into account anything that the Soldier has to say.This scenario isn't exactly a specific one, but the cop has pulled over the Soldier for a traffic offense and he is acting unusually rude this day and the Soldier tries to be respectful.Somehow it turns into a argument about the Soldier's bumper sticker (their politics are different) and the cop threatens to arrest him if the man doesn't remove the stickers.Well, this is something that can very well happen in today's let's fight over nothing age and let's rule over everyone's life age.While both these men are good people, the cop is clearly wrong in demanding the removal of the stickers which are the right of the man to keep on his car.He is additionally wrong by threatening arrest or any consequence and they end up in a altercation.Me personally, I am all for being a law abiding citizen as I have personally been my whole life.But there are certain things that I will not allow myself to be restricted to and I will not allow my freedoms and pursuit of happiness to be hampered by a LEO making unwarranted demands just because he/she doesn't like my opinions or politics/religion.If you have done nothing wrong then LEO has no right to interfere with your freedom to move around and they can't force you to do anything unless you have actually broken a law that is a serious enough offense that any legitimate cop would enforce.Sorry, this was long but I want to see what some of you say.The world is huge out there and in the U.S.there have been too many cases of LEO acting out of line and hurting innocent people who didn't do anything wrong.Sometimes the courts let the cops get off but more and more courts are slapping huge fines and punishments on LEO for abusing their privilege to be a cop.There is much more I could have included up top but I didn't because it would take too long.I tried to cover variables between the 2 men as much as possible.I have clearly made a fine story for which anyone should be able to give a solid answer to.My question also comes in part because I am myself a experience combat veteran and while it has been 3 years since I was in the Army, I still act like a Soldier many times and I still think like an Infantryman because that was my life for several years.While I can do other things with finesse and while I live my life as normal as anyone can, I also worry at times about being pulled over and verbally attacked because of my bumper stickers.The stickers are nothing more than my support for the war on terror, my former job as a 11B and my military brothers.In today's world though I always know to be on my guard and that's something I can't ignore.

Hi.I'm a 15 year old Canadian High School student and it has been my dream to become a police officer.I would like to know, with the following qualities and interests, if I would make a good Candidate and if I will be able to pass the Psych test.Thank You:Skills - I am a member of a visible minority (Canadian-born Chinese)- I can speak English and Cantonese fluently (Plus a bit of broken French)- I am a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets - I possess rather exceptional Marksmanship Skills - I used to take TaeKwonDo martial art - I have good communication skills (although it never got me any luck with girls XD)- I can tell when people lie and when they are telling the truth.- A rather developed gut feeling for things - No Driving skills yet (Though I'm taking the test next year)- Good with technological studies (Photoshop, graphic design, video editing)- I can also tell the difference between Hollywood Fictional Policing and Police in RealityInterests:- I enjoy playing video games, watching television, exercising, biking, swimming, and hanging out with my friends.- Music: Jazz (Sinatra, Michael Buble), Pop (MJ, Bruno Mars, Usher ...), Rap/Hip Hop (Eminem, Beastie Boys,...) and oldies (Marvin Gaye, Beach Boys, Beatles, etc...)- I enjoy watching the James Bond and Die Hard series of films.Fave movie genres are action and comedy.- I also enjoy traveling.I have traveled to the United States, the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Bermuda, and CanadaPlans for future:- Go to University to attend Law/Business Courses - Take the Disney international Co-op program - Go into business for about a year before applying for my closest big city PD (Mom requested)So, if things do go out as planned above (Plan for Future section), will I make a good candidate for the role of a Big City Police Officer?
