India has so many problems to solve; I don't understand why India is wasting so much money on players and useless tournaments.It doesn't seem like the players and sponsors who are making money off of IPL are giving away their profit to charity or anything....the rich are becoming richer, and poor are becoming poorer.There are so many indians wasting their precious time following useless cricket games, and the country seems to be going to the dogs.DO you think the IPL should be banned, so that India can focus time and money on solving problems like over-population, poverty, illiteracy, lack of infrastructure, corruption etc? What do you think? for those who asked, I give atleast 10% of my take home pay as charity......but if I was making as much as these guys, I would probably give atleast 50%

Are Japans nuclear reactor problems worse than what happened in Chernobyl?
There has been an explosion at the power station, the experts on TV are playing it down, but I am not so sure.I think the reactor itself might have melted causing a thermal explosion between coolant water and fuel material.It is not a 'nuclear explosion' but will have spread radioactive material.In fact it has just sounded more like Chernobyl still.A whole building has apparently blown up.Nuclear experts like to talk about 'emergency shutdowns', but the things can not be shut down at will, shut down is a process that takes several days of cooling.The expert on Sky was playing it all down, trying to say that nuclear power is totally safe, and that it might be a non radioactive incident or just a little radioactive gas venting off, but the entire building was annihilated, I had to sort of laugh at that, it was like something off 'Brass Eye' for its ludicrousness this now means it might be impossible to tend the other malfunctioning reactors.I think it will be less bad than Chernobyl though, that reactor was on fire for days with no plan existing to put it out.Farid, I fear it might be the worst nuclear power accident apart from Chernobyl, they are now talking about 'bad contamination'I think it is worse than three mile island, Three Mile Island was a partial melt-down followed by steam being released, this thing exploded! Ianr - I believe this plant is 40 years old, therefore possibly suffering the same design flaws as Three Mile Island.

Promising New CBT for PTSD - how / where to launch it ?
Just a brief explanation.I spent 5 years in the Active Army in Germany and my unit was deployed to Desert Storm.I was not deployed because of injuries that I received while working in the motor pool months before we ever knew we being deployed.I eventually was medically discharged.(not by choice).My service officer at the DAV is saying that I need to apply for PTSD.First of all isn't this only for military members that actually had boots on the ground? I told him that I don't need to apply because I am stable except for my true service connected disabilities that I have and I am being compensated for those issues.I felt like I would be taken advantage of the system and he assured me that I am entitled.Confused???

need advice having issues with ptsd?
My wife and I went through a traumatic experience about a 6 weeks ago.Something so simple and stupid but what happened was our security system went off at 1am.We were jolted out of bed as you can imagine from the sound and then the realization of a major threat in our home took over.We were looked in our bedroom for over 3 hours not knowing the situation or what danger we were in.It turned out to be a false alarm.We had a hard time sleeping at night afterwards for about 5-6 days and as time went by we became more comfortable again.Not 100% but sleeping much better and feeling more comfortable again.The problem I am having is about 2 weeks after the event I am now finding myself getting upset day after day thinking about our future and the thought that someday one of us will die leaving the other behind to be alone.We love each other so much and have the greatest relationship 2 people can have but all I dwell on is that someday it will end and I will be w/o here or she will be w/o me.We have no kids (we tried) and I think that makes things worse.I can't stand the thought of her being alone if something happened to me or vice versa.I dwell on this day by day.Each time with tears in my eyes.I haven't cried in 20 years now over the last 4 weeks I think I've had tears well up in my eyes at least once a day! I always worried about her and had passing thoughts about this before the event but now something was triggered and now my thoughts are often are so upsetting and very tough to deal with.We we are together I feel pretty good but when we are apart (usually at our workplace) I can't stop thinking about this.Any thoughts, advice or help will be appreciated.Thank you.

My co-workers wife came in and introduced herself.We all finished out greetings.We went back to work on an overdue project.She brought a book along to pass the time until he was ready for lunch.After about 5 min, his wife looked straight at me sand said “My grandchild was x pounds and y ounces”.I have heard that sort of thing before, but only on TV.I am not sure what the significance is.I was polite, I guess.I smiled and said, “Oh, I assume from the enthusiasm in your voice that that is a good weight, and congratulations are in order”.She looked disappointed.I am 45 and educated.Most of my friends have children, and know that I am not into babies so they never bring that up.Over the years, I have dated dozens of women who have children.They never mention such things to me.Most have kids that are old enough to know that we have “grown up stuff to do in the bedroom and we brought you some DVD to watch”.I am a PTSD veteran who could not find the patience for children if my life depended on it.That is why I had the “snip” many years ago, and have no children.Thanks for the polite answers so far.They do not teach this sort of thing in collage.At least not to those of us who are IT professionals.

I am currently taking my prerequisites for the nursing program as well as a transferable course.I plan on transferring to a CSU and persue my Bachelors in Health Sciences in a state college.After i get my BA in Health Sciences, i was thinking of going for the ADN program and BSN later.If not a BSN, I am happy with a ADN.If i get a bachelor's in Health Science will that help me get priority or have a higher chance of getting into the ADN/ASN program? I know that you can do the Psych.Tech/LVN to ADN/BSN route, but even then i would have to wait to get into a Pysch.Tech/LVN program because some are lottery and some are not.I also know we have to meet the required classes weather it is a ADN or a BSN program.But which one will help me to have more priority? Does it matter? What is the Difference? Apply to an LVN program while im working towards my BA in Health Science? Or forget about the LVN program and persue my BA in Health Science then do a ADN? Or just go for an LVN program and do a BSN program? I spoke to so many counselors but i cant seem to find the right answers.I try to get a hold of the nursing counselor or advisors but they are either away or teaching their class.So i an asking someone who has knowledge here.I trust the LVN programs that are on from community colleges but not the "private colleges" that are "accredited" or should i say a vocational school that offers the nursing programs such as western career or kaplan college.I generally feel more comfortable doing the BA in Health Science then getting into a ADN program route but I am having doubts.I am becoming desperate and am considering the vocational schools however the cost is about 25,000-40,000 for a lvn.i feel ike thats not even worth it.How sure will i know i will be well equipped to take the nclex through those schools? Please help me out here..i have no idea what i want to become when im older (I'm currently 14) So it would be good to get some suggestions based on some things i know about myself:- i am a female who is not necessarily physically strong ( builder or engineer etc.would probably be out of the question)- I am pretty good at solving problems or mathematical equations - I can fluently speak 2 languages (English and German)- I like working in groups and usually enjoy shorter projects much more than long ones.- I like animals but can't bare to see anyone or anything suffering (it makes me cry)- I'm not really very sporty but i still enjoy doing physical activity sometimes - I can advertise things alright but i don't like ripping people off - Maths is the probably the subject i find easiest and I like it because it is very straight forward.- Usually when i start doing something for the first time im not very good at it but i almost always get better with practice - I really want to do something i enjoy but earning good money is also important to me - I am confident around people i know but can be a bit shy around strangers (It's getting better though)Guys, i know that probably doesn't tell you much but any suggestions will be considered and appreciated.I really want to know what i am going to do with my life after i finish school and i'm pretty keen to go to university i just don't know for what yet...Please don't say anything mean.Thanks.x

I'm a permanent resident here at US, I already graduated in high school, I am a nursing student in college, but I was not a graduate.I only finish 3 years in college in the Philippines.We can't afford to continue my study here in the US or worst, all my units, subjects or courses that I had already completed will not be counted if I study again in here.So I was thinking if I could join the US Army? or Navy? and if that could help me study and help me financially? where to start.I think these negative thoughts started this weekend: My boss told me she would retire in 2 years.I had no reaction--cool I have 2 years.Now I was looking on line at career builder and I see failure with any job I would try.I'm scared to death! Also I am completely jealous of every single woman my husband works with or knows.He seems to only be interested in the single ones.He does not cheat.I am raging inside for him liking them so much.I seem to be falling apart emotionally.I'm 45 and have a creepy fear of having children so I have never had one.I don't want a child.To me it feels like a great risk to do so.My sister who is my boss ( the person who is retiring in 2 years) wants to start a business on line and put up the money.I don't want to do it because I see failure in my future and dont want to lose then owe her the money! I nearly got caught up in a scam, but thankfully (by God's graces) something felt off, and I didn't completely.I had my resume up on Career Builder, and I got a job offer from a company who said they worked with the gov't and after asking a few questions, they said they needed proof of citizenship.I sent them a copy of my Birth Cert.and resume (Which at this point adds up to cell number, email, work history, place of birth, address, first and last name, date of birth, parents' names and mother's maiden name).They asked me to fill out a follow-up form asking for my Signature, SSN, Address, DOB, Full Name, Date, and Home Phone.I told them I didn't feel comfortable filling those out without an in-person interview, and haven't heard from them since.I intend to call the Better Business Bureau and notify the credit agencies/my banks to put an alert on my account, and have already reported them to careerbuilder.com.But is it possible to steal my identity with a black and white scanned copy of my birth certificate and all the other info? [PS: They used the name of a legitimate company and spoofed their email address.]

But I still don't have any job offer yet.I know some people got their offers before they graduate...some of them even got job offers from big companies when they were in their junior year.Yes I did have some interviews before, like the biggest accounting firm PwC and investment banks like Barclay and Bank of America...but I blew them all =(I know I'm not one of those top students who got a 4.0GPA, I don't even have 3.5...DO YOU THINK HIGH GPA IS REALLY THAT IMPORTANT TO GET A GOOD JOB? The career center in my school doesn't help at all, probably because my school is only a city university, not even a state univ., so recruiters don't even bother to come to my school.Is there any other resource that I can use for my job hunting? I've tried career builder and monster, but the jobs out there are more like sales/commission based jobs, not really what I want.Most importantly, I need a career, not only a job...that's why I spent my time and money on college study =(P.S.I don't mind working for the gov.if they have openings.
