Are you just starting out on tracing your ancestors but unsure where to begin? Are you new to research in the archives and want to know how the records are arranged?
We've created a new section on our website to help you begin your research journey. Start here tells you what we have here at The National Archives, what we don't have and where you can find those records, what you can find online and what you can't. It also has information on what archives are and how to use them.
The new section is in beta, so is still in development. Your feedback on how useful this section is, and what might be missing, will help us to improve it. You can leave your comments and suggestions via the feedback link provided on the site.
We will be launching the finished version of Start here in February.
