Volunteers needed to better with digitisation of unit war diaries

Following the online loose of almost 10,000 unit armed conflict of powers diaries earlier this year, we are at once conserving, sorting, digitising and itemising thousands in greater numbers diaries from the WO 95 order as part of our First World War 100 programme - and we need your help.

What's involved

An weighty part of the digitisation of the one war diaries involves ensuring that the pages inside of the diaries are in the discipline order, and in some cases not above the correct diary. A team of volunteers helped us complete this work during the first digitisation brew, and we're looking for besides volunteers to help us sort and register the new batch.

Ideally we exigency volunteers who can come in to The National Archives with a view to at least one day a fortnight to help us with this frame, which will run between now (June) and September 2014. You don't need to have volunteered by us before, but it would exist helpful if you've handled model documents and have an interest in the First World War. We'll prepare the training that you need to take concern in the project, as well for example the security clearance that you'll exigency to access staff areas of the pile. We can also reimburse travel expenses (up to &enclose;10 per day).
