Latest crowd of archive services receive accreditation

Today, archive services athwart the UK have been awarded accredited archive official function status by the Archive Service Accreditation Committee.

Archive Service Accreditation is the of the present day quality standard for archives services from one side of to the other the UK which has been developed in interest with the archives sector and its stakeholders. The newly accredited services comprise:

Falkirk Archives

Richard Burton Archives, University of Swansea

Unilever Archives and Records Management

The National Archives

First accredited national body

The National Archives applied as antidote to Archive Service Accreditation as part of its sector lead role and to demonstrate its placing in charge to active participation and engagement with the wider archives sector. The use for Archive Service Accreditation was assessed means of representatives of two other national assessor bodies, the Scottish Council on Archives and Public Record of Northern Ireland, in the manner that well as peer reviewers from the wider archive sector.

Welcoming The National Archives' allot, Acting Chief Executive and Keeper, Clem Brohier uttered: 'We see the Archive Service Accreditation notice as a key part of supporting the variety and health of the UK archives sector. As sector leaders for England, it was important for us to participate fully in accreditation from the start. We are delighted that the Accreditation Committee has recognised our lucky delivery at a national level.'
